there is no benefit to use ntbackup over eg. HP Dataprotector, but you can use it to test and/or troubleshoot several aspects of VCB in a controlled testing environment without the need for (complex) backup software.

This also is a nice shortcut:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\VpxClient.exe” -passthroughAuth -s %VCservername%”

Of course, for non 64bit systems this is:
“C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\VpxClient.exe” -passthroughAuth -s %VCservername%”

This allows you to passthrough your logged-on username credentials.
